Milfoil Hand-Pulling Workshop a Success

More than 20 people attended an Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM) hand-pulling workshop on Saturday, July 25, along the southeastern shore of Gilmore Lake.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent EWM hand-pulling workshop. Together we can make a difference.

Led by Emily Moore of Moore Lake & Garden LLC, the hands-on workshop trained participants to identify EWM and common look-alike plants, use proper hand-pulling techniques, and follow important safety practices. Participants also had an opportunity to put their training into practice by snorkeling and hand-pulling milfoil in the lake.

The workshop provided residents with practical skills they can use to help control the spread of EWM and support ongoing efforts to protect Gilmore Lake.

Emily Moore has served as the Association’s lake consultant for the past several years.
