Working Together for Gilmore Lake
Our Mission: The Gilmore Lake Association brings together property owners, residents and friends of Gilmore Lake to protect and preserve the lake for future generations. Through responsible stewardship, education, community involvement and long-term planning, we work to maintain the health, beauty and recreational enjoyment of Gilmore Lake.
About the Gilmore Lake Association
The Gilmore Lake Association (GLA) is a nonprofit, volunteer-led organization dedicated to the long-term health and enjoyment of Gilmore Lake. GLA is a qualified Wisconsin lake association and a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, enabling it to pursue grants and other funding to support lake protection and management. The Association has no paid employees and relies on the involvement and support of its members.
What We Do
GLA works throughout the year to protect Gilmore Lake and keep members informed and involved. Our priorities include:

Aquatic Invasive Species — Monitor and manage Eurasian watermilfoil and help prevent the introduction of other invasive species.

Water Quality — Monitor water clarity and conditions to track the long-term health of the lake.

Lake & Shoreline Stewardship — Promote practices that protect water quality, habitat and Gilmore Lake's natural shoreline.

Grants & Funding — Pursue grants and other resources for lake-management and preservation projects.

Education & Communication — Keep members informed about lake issues, Association activities and opportunities to get involved.

Community Involvement — Bring residents together to support the lake and the work of the Association.

GLA works with lake organizations at the local, county and state levels, extending our reach and connecting Gilmore Lake with valuable expertise, programs and resources.
Minong Area Lakes Alliance
Supports lakes throughout the Minong area through shared programs, grant opportunities and coordination of the local Clean Boats, Clean Waters boat-inspection program.
Washburn County Lakes and Rivers Association
Brings together lake and river organizations and residents to protect and advocate for Washburn County’s water resources. WCLRA website
